The incident happened Monday, Sept. 30 in Northern Westchester.

Police received a report on Monday night, Sept. 30 of the student being approached by a woman in a blue-gray van in Peekskill.

The driver asked the student if they wanted a ride. 

"The student did not get in the van and reported the incident," according to a statement by the Peekskill City School District.

"Please continue to speak to your children about safety procedures and remind them never to accept rides from strangers," the statement said.
